The challenge

The client is a smart cards consortium consisting of manufacturers and distributors of smart cards. Since they were distributed around the globe, they wanted a portal which would not only act as their website but wanted to have various user defined access levels for Gemware members to communicate with each other on the site.

The solution

The solution that we implemented for them was created using HTML, Perl, CGI and used MySQL as the RDBMS. The members of the site - the Gemware employees,  the distributors and the manufacturers - had various access levels which allowed seggregation of the displayed information. The site, being dynamic and requiring frequent data updation, was designed in a manner that content management of the site was done by the Gemware employees via user friendly screens.
